Dede, a queer photojournalist and recovering addict, and her mother, move in next door to Laura, a young woman with autism, and her overprotective father. The girls discover a shared interest, and their parents find companionship—but can they open themselves to what scares them? Using documentary style elements and clever animation, this film tells a heartwarming story through a uniquely Asian American lens.
