The 19th Annual DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon is a hybrid festival with an exceptional line-up of 19 live and 22 virtual film screenings as well as in-person Q&A’s with filmmakers. All live screenings will be at the Art House Eugene.
We will celebrate the broad range of AANHPI ancestors who dared to traverse the Pacific–seeking adventure, a new life, a forever family and refuge. As wind-borne seeds filled with fortitude and resilience, they put down strong roots and made life-changing decisions, that their progeny would someday thrive. Join us as we gather around our stories and our shared experiences, and inspire the community to sow life-giving seeds for the future.
For 19 years, DisOrient has been a film festival powered by a passionate and committed group of volunteers. All donations go directly towards running the festival and providing a platform for AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) voices and stories. If you find value in our work and in this platform, please consider making a donation.
A Burmese orphan’s journey to find his place in America unravels a web of secrets, betrayals, and connections that challenge his identity, his friendships, and his sense of belonging.
Join us afterward for a Q&A with the film’s Producer Peter K. Yap.

DisOrient is the premiere Asian American independent film festival of Oregon, celebrating films with authentic Asian Pacific American voices, histories and stories. We highlight social justice themes that translate to universal human experiences. We promote representation, diversity and inclusion to broaden the narrative of who is American, and to strengthen and build community.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization run by volunteers who support our mission, and who believe in the power of film to create positive change.
